Professor Viorel Scripcariu, the Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Grigore T. Popa”, received the highest award of the University – the title of Honorary Professor of International European University by the decision of the University Academic Council according to the extract of the protocol No. 3.

Professor Viorel Scripcariu is the Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Grigore T. Popa”, Iasi, Romania, a leading specialist in general surgery, liver transplantation, diagnostics and treatment of colorectal cancer and laparoscopic surgery.

The Professor has outstanding merits in general surgery, hepato-bilio-pancreatic surgery, prevention and control of colorectal cancer, public health promotion, active work to improve relations with medical schools in other countries, as well as experience and authority in the global scientific and educational community.
