Introduction to POCUS for Non-Specialists

• POCUS is a portable ultrasound scanner available to non-specialists.
• Physics and buttonology: how to get a high-quality image without harming the transducer.
• Fast triage: abdominal aorta, FAST in case of trauma, ultrasound phonendoscope in case of pneumonia, basic skills in ultrasound of surface structures.
• Practical training in hands on the transducer in groups of three per device with a coach.
• 10 ultrasound machines: Taiwanese (Leltek, 2 models), Chinese (D2CL and D5CL), French (Sonoscanner), US (General Electric and 2 different Sonosite) and old but workhorses (Siemens and Sonoline).
• The CPD Certificate is not expected: only ≈30% of the participants ask for it. Funds supposed to be used for CPD plus a tithe of the fee will be used for donations.
Participation fees (the sum covers snacks and lunch):
• Students, military officers, non-medical specialists — 1,000 UAH
• Interns, nurses — 1,500 UAH
• Doctors — 2,000 UAH
