Training in Basic Surgical Skills: new horizons of studies!
On Friday, we conducted an exciting Training in Basic Surgical Skills as part of the integrative course for first-, second-, and third-year students. It was incredible experience allowing our students to immerse themselves into the world of medicine and surgery.
Students were able to acquire valuable knowledge and practical skills from young surgeons who showed basic techniques. We started with the brief introduction revealing important aspects of surgery.
The theoretical part was followed by practice where students applied the acquired knowledge. And here the power of VICARIOUS LEARNING described by Canadian Ukrainian Albert Bandura came to the rescue. This learning via observation and imitation became a great tool for our students, as they were able to learn from each other by watching their colleagues' actions.
This training not only expanded their knowledge but also strengthened their team spirit because all participants worked together, supporting each other at every stage.
