Central Public Library of Malta hosted a milestone event – the opening ceremony of shelves with Ukrainian books for kids and adults on October 29. This initiative was strongly supported by students, lecturers and administration of International European University.

The event was also visited by Owen Bonnici, the Minister for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government. President Alla Navolokina expressed her gratitude for the assistance provided to Ukrainians and discussed joint plans and ideas to support traditions and culture of Ukraine.

International European University supplemented the library collection by presenting Ukrainian books. This cooperation will be continued, as we have already drawn up the list of books to be ordered from Ukraine. Lecturers and students were able to talk to the attendees and give Ukrainian souvenirs and sweets. Note: due to the selected date of the event, visitors were not able to take books at once. However, everyone with the registered account will be able to choose literature from Monday during the working hours of the library. This initiative helps enrich the literary collection and makes Ukrainian works available to all interested readers.
