💙💛The commemorative day in Ukraine to honor the military personnel and members of volunteer formations who died defending the independence of Ukraine is celebrated on August 29.

It is not a random date. It is related to one of the most tragic episodes of the russian-Ukrainian war before full-scale invasion – the exit of Ukrainian soldiers from the encirclement near Ilovaisk in 2014.

At that time, russia, traditionally for itself, violated the agreements: Ukrainian military personnel were shot when they were passing in columns through the green corridor.
Their route was through fields of sunflowers. Therefore, the sunflower became the traditional symbol of the commemorative day of August 29.
This day is determined by the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated August 23, 2019, No. 621 to immortalize the heroism of soldiers and volunteers who gave their lives for the Motherland.

The memory of fighters and their deeds is the highest value on the scale of our national identity. And the belief and confidence that in case of death on the battlefield, the sacrifice of a warrior will be respected at the state level is very important for raising the morale of servicemen.

We remember those HEROES who laid down their lives defending Ukraine from the sneaky enemy.
We express our sincere condolences to the families of the fallen defenders who lost their relatives in the war with the russian occupier.
