Fifth-year students of the European Medical School acquired advanced skills as part of the weekly pediatric course during on-the-job practical training with a functional diagnostics workshop.
Classes were held by Anastasiia Bondarenko, the Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Immunology, Infectious and Rare Diseases. Under her supervision, students got a unique opportunity to study using real-life clinical cases. Her practical approach contributed to the development of competent specialists in pediatrics and diagnostics of various diseases in children.
Students learned to:
⁃ Receive patients at the clinic
⁃ Assess clinical tests, biochemical and serologic reactions in autoimmune diseases
⁃ Analyze ECG
⁃ Assess fibrogastroduodenoscopy data with pH-metry
⁃ Assess spirometry, bronchoscopy and echocardiography data
⁃ Assess chest, digestive and genitourinary radiographs
⁃ Conduct diagnostics and provide emergency care to children
Special attention was paid to the interpretation of laboratory tests and emergency care for children.
