Student excursion to the anatomy museum of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.
Lecturers at the Department of Fundamental Disciplines and students of the preparatory department visited the anatomy museum of the Veterinary Faculty of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine. It’s one of the best-known university museums in Kyiv.
The museum has over 1,500 anatomical exhibit items representing fauna of all continents. Skeletons of rhinoceros, giraffe, python and other exotic animals.
Besides, the museum features bone materials of vertebrates, primarily mammals, although there are bones of birds and reptiles. The interior is decorated with dummies made by museum’s taxidermists.
Extraordinary exhibits include:
🔹a human skull dating back to Princess Olga;
🔹a collection of skulls of various dog breeds;
🔹dog remains of the 11th century found by archeologists during the past excavations on Poshtova Square;
🔹a skull of dik-dik, the world’s smallest antelope weighing approximately five kilos;
🔹a trunk and ears of elephant Boi from Kyiv Zoo;
🔹internal organs of animals: tiger’s tongue, horse’s heart, porcupine’s lungs, etc.
International European University is not boring lectures, but interesting, interactive and diverse study.
