International European University took part in the online event titled ‘rECOvery: How to Face Disasters’ on November 16, 2023. This event was a crucial step towards the development of knowledge and skills in crisis management related to natural disasters.

The event featured the presentation where Alla Yukhymchuk, the European Youth Ambassador, shared important aspects of crisis management related to natural disasters in the EU, and Maksym Soroka, a professional ecologist, covered the impact of natural disasters and assistance to victims. These presentations provided participants with a deeper understanding of issues and challenges faced by the world today.

Besides, attendees had a unique opportunity to find out more about challenges associated with natural disasters in occupied and frontline territories. It broadened their understanding of challenges faced by people in complex geopolitical circumstances.

The second stage of the event included the team interactive session allowing participants to solve a simulated disaster case study, facilitating the development of strategic skills in dealing with the consequences of emergencies. Everyone could feel part of the team looking for efficient solutions and helping to reduce the impact of the disaster on the community.

rECOvery provided our University community with the unique experience and opportunity to grow, share knowledge and acquire practical skills in crisis management.
