IEU is launching an experiment in nursing training, and the first step is ultrasound!
We are no longer limited to junior students and interns. The European Medical School has decided that basic POCUS techniques are well within the capabilities of nurses!
Complex Doppler imaging with flow calculations, contrast enhancement, elastography, and intraluminal examinations remain the domain of narrow specialists. However, basic skills are available to a broader audience.
On June 28, 10 nurses, paramedics, and volunteers without medical education underwent free POCUS training for nurses. The concentration of cool participants was off the charts.
Five coaches worked with 10 participants on 10 devices. We deliberately adapted the terminology and approach to make it clear even to non-medical professionals.
And we realized that we are ready for the next step.
What lies ahead are training sessions on ultrasound, injections, catheterization, probing, bandaging, etc.
