Medical Law is one of the key courses in the training of students at the European Medical School. It develops an understanding of the legal foundations in healthcare, helps to navigate the complexities of doctor–patient relationships, and teaches how to respond appropriately to challenging professional situations.
During the course, students will discuss:
what medical law is and why it is necessary for both doctors and patients in the 21st century; leading models and healthcare systems around the world; ethical, moral, and legal aspects of transplantation, abortion, and euthanasia; the role and importance of contracts in medicine; application of international humanitarian law norms during wartime; current challenges of the healthcare system in Ukraine.Instructor: Maxim Hamulets — practicing lawyer, assistant at the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines.
As part of the program, invited specialists and experts from various fields will also participate: lawyers, doctors, human rights defenders, and medical management professionals.
