From November 30 to December 1, 2023, the All-Ukrainian Association of Pediatric Immunology held the Infections and Immunity Scientific Conference. International European University was the partner of its scientific program.
The event focused on key aspects of immunology and current challenges faced by society. Attendees discussed anti-infectious immunity, Ukraine’s readiness for epidemics, the introduction of new vaccines and diagnostics of innate immune errors.
Special attention was paid to various clinical cases including CMV encephalitis, Kawasaki disease and autoinflammatory diseases.
Speakers of the Conference included experts from authoritative organizations of the WHO, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Center for Public Health, as well as lecturers of International European University who shared their experience and knowledge in pediatrics, immunology and infectious diseases.

IEU medical students and interns also took part in the Scientific Conference. Students Lidiia Shybovska and Anna Vereshko were active participants in the event.
A great focus was given to the discussion of hereditary angioedema and the vaccine summit. Participants reviewed clinical cases and basics of clinical diagnostics of innate immune errors.
Not only did this Conference facilitate the exchange of knowledge, but it also stressed the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation in combating infections and supporting the public sector and responsible businesses in these efforts.
