International European University represented by the President, administration and student team took an active part in the webinar: The European Green Deal and universities. A roadmap for the sector.
The webinar focused on the implications of climate change, environmental degradation, loss of biodiversity and natural resources, as well as the necessity of a holistic, swift, and fair green transition.
The event stressed that universities are in a unique place to address these global challenges, bringing together researchers, innovators and different social sectors. The role of universities is also crucial in local communities, which requires them to set an example as employers being mindful of ethics and equity.
As part of the EU Green Deal, attendees discussed the processes and interventions to boost universities’ impact in order to gain climate neutrality, environmental sustainability and social equity in Europe.
Participants shared their ideas and strategies for joint efforts to achieve these important goals.
