Meeting of representatives of IEU, Akademia Śląska, and Szpital Miejski w Zabrzu on cooperation in clinical training for IEU students
IEU keeps developing international partnerships to improve the quality of education and create real opportunities for practical training. One of such steps is to provide conditions for clinical practical training for third-year to sixth-year IEU students at the modern clinic in Poland.
Katowice (Poland) hosted a meeting as part of cooperation with Akademia Śląska that actively interacts with our University in various areas, as well as with Szpital Miejski w Zabrzu, one of the Academy’s clinical bases.
The meeting was attended by:
– Mariana Hrytsiuk, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and International Relations of IEU,
– Prorektor ds. medycznych Wydziału Nauk Medycznych im. Zbigniewa Religi w Zabrzu — dr Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik,
– Prorektor ds. kształcenia — mgr Agnieszka Szostak.
During the meeting, University representatives had the opportunity to see the clinical base, discuss clinical practical training issues, namely: practical training programs, assessment methods, recognition of practical training results, appointment of supervisors, invitation of students to Poland and their staying in Katowice during practical training.
In July, IEU students will be able to undergo practical training at the following departments:
• Neurological Department
• Intensive Care Unit
• Orthopedic Department
• Surgical Department
• Emergency Department
• Therapeutic Department
• Department of Gynecology and Gynecological Oncology
• Diagnostic Department
We express our sincere gratitude to dr Aleksander Ostenda, prof. AŚ, the Rector of the Academy, and prof. Yurii Vitkovskyi, Dyrektor działu współpracy z zagranicą (Head of the International Department), for their constant support and fruitful cooperation.
This agreement is another important step toward the integration of Ukrainian students into the European medical space. It is an opportunity to study and acquire practical skills according to the European standards, in a multicultural environment, and under the supervision of experienced Polish specialists.
