On April 2, 2025, the Malta campus of International European University became a platform for a unique educational event: a binary seminar dedicated to bioethics and medical ethics.
This interdisciplinary format combined academic theory and clinical practice, allowing students to immerse themselves into complicated ethical dilemmas of the medical profession.
The seminar was conducted by Associate Professors Nataliia Davydenko and Bohdan Serdenko, experts in various fields who analyzed the topic from different perspectives: ethics theory and medical communication on the one hand and real clinical cases on the other.
Special attention was drawn to the event by participation of Olesia Hulchii, the Vice-Rector of IEU, WHO international expert, who stressed the importance of global dialogue on medical ethics.
Students worked with concepts of autonomy, justice, and the do no harm principle, focused on patients’ rights, revealed clinical cases, took part in discussions, and modeled real-life situations.
Such events develop a new generation of doctors – not only professionally trained but also deeply ethically conscious.
IEU will keep introducing innovative approaches to medical education, training specialists of the future.
