IEU took part in the 20th General Assembly of the Ukrainian Association of Students

On December 7-8, 2024, the Student Parliament of International European University took part in the 20th General Assembly of the Ukrainian Association of Students, which became a significant platform for discussing relevant issues of student life and the development of the youth movement in Ukraine.

Numerous extremely talented speakers and guests stressed the importance of student unity:

Oksen Lisovyi, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine;

Serhii Babak, Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science and Innovation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine;

Olha Budnyk, Advisor-Commissioner of the President of Ukraine on the Presidential Foundation for Support of Education, Science and Sports;

Andrii Butenko, Head of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.

They emphasized that every student is an important part of the big team, and everyone has the right to vote and make choices. It is collective activity and expression of opinions that will allow us to meet challenges faced by our society together.

Besides, participants were able to listen to the following topics:

- Trends and challenges in the educational environment by Bohdan Ferens, the Founder of SD Platform NGO and Progresylni NGO, and Oksana Matiiash, the Head of Board of Teach for Ukraine NGO.

- Ivanna Havliuk, PR & Communications of Oleksandr Teren and MUR Project, conducted the workshop on the topic: WHY IS IT NOT PR?

- Polina Hombalevska, the President of the UAS, told everything and even more about the concept of UAS and explained why everyone should learn more about it.

- Reformation of student self-government bodies: new challenges and opportunities.

- Student self-government and the educational environment: trends and challenges.

- Valiera, an actor of the League of Laughter in the YuliaValiera team, spoke about the courage to be yourself and the rules of true leadership.

- The MUR team held the panel discussion: MUR: [Romance] of the Executed Renaissance and Modern National Consciousness.

Our representative at this meeting was Yelyzaveta Fishchuk, the President of the IEU Student Parliament.

The event was held as part of the Democratic Accession, Resilience and Engagement in Ukraine (Ukraine-DARE) Project implemented by Democracy Reporting International Ukraine.
