International European University joins the global Scholars at Risk (SAR) network

We are proud to announce that International European University has officially become a member of the Scholars at Risk (SAR) network — and we are currently the only Ukrainian university in this important global alliance.

Scholars at Risk is an international network of higher education institutions and associations committed to protecting scholars and promoting academic freedom around the world. Through temporary academic placements and advocacy, SAR supports scholars facing threats to their lives, liberty, and academic work.

For IEU, this membership is a strong statement of our identity as an institution dedicated to academic integrity, freedom of thought, and solidarity with scholars in danger. It also aligns with our mission to foster a safe and open academic environment, especially in times of crisis and war.

We believe that academic freedom is the foundation of quality education, scientific progress, and democratic society. In today’s context, Ukrainian universities need global solidarity more than ever.
