On July 19, 2025, International European University hosted the training dedicated to wound healing and the implementation of modern solutions in their management. The event brought together professionals who are not just striving for knowledge but are ready to change the medical reality today.

Participants gained practical skills in working with humanitarian dressings, learned how to assess the condition of a wound and determine the need for a particular product even without the doctor’s involvement. However, we paid special attention to a new area this time – the use of Artificial Intelligence in field medicine.

It was the first time that we started teaching the use of AI in wound management: from creating chatbots that help to quickly select the proper dressing to formulating queries and analyzing the composition of products through the ChatGPT interface. For example, together with a nurse from Kherson, we explored how to use AI to identify chitosan in super-absorbent, a component with strong hemostatic properties. All of this was done without knowledge of languages and without a doctor.

This training is not only about knowledge but also about action. After the training, six participants united and donated 2,000 UAH for the needs of the 3rd separate assault brigade. Because medicine today means not only treatment but also support at the front line.

The event was held due to the FOCUS POCUS team, the Ukrainian College of Surgeons, Allm Inc. technical support, logistical support from Kateryna Pilon, and equipment provided by Svitlana Kr.
