Great news!
Ivo Hlavacek, an adviser to the Vice-President of European Commission, Diplomat of the Slovak Republic, Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Business Administration, became a member of the Council for promoting the development of International European University.

He graduated from Columbia University in New York, USA, worked for the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic in the field of International Law, participated in the second CSSE follow-up meeting in Helsinki, and was a legal expert for the Czechoslovak delegation.

He worked in the International Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic and was later appointed as the Director of the International Legal and Consular Department.

Mr. Hlavacek founded the Department of Human Rights and National Minorities and the Department of the International Court of Justice.
He took part in several important conferences and other key events and negotiations, in particular, in the World Conference on human rights in Vienna, and Council of Europe summits.

He was a member of legal commissions within the Council of Europe, the Central European initiative, the CSCE/OSCE, UN committees, etc. In addition, he worked as a General consul in Istanbul, Turkey.

Ivo Hlavacek worked as a Head of the Service Department of the diplomatic corps, an organization that finances the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic. In 2001, he became the Chairman of the management board of this company and its General Director.

From 2005 to 2008, he served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to Cuba and the Caribbean.
From 2008 to the end of 2010, he served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to the state of Israel.

It is a great honor for International European University to have an adviser in the person of Ivo Hlavacek.
