The International European University hosted an expert session with the participation of representatives of the Rectorate, the Departments of Educational Process Organization and Quality Assurance of Educational Activities, the administration of educational and research institutes, academic staff, student self-government, and partners from V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Sumy State University, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, and the International Personnel Academy, as well as external experts – representatives of the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA).
The session was organized by the Working Group on the Review of the Recognition Policy, established at IEU by the Rector’s order in accordance with the decision of the Academic Council. The group’s task is to take into account the recommendations and address the comments made by accreditation experts during the accreditation procedures in 2024.
The purpose of the event was to define the key requirements for the development of regulatory documents of higher education institutions in the context of the provisions of the Lisbon Recognition Convention and international practice, as well as to develop proposals for improving the IEU Policy on the Recognition of Prior Learning.
During the session:
- experts presented key approaches and standards in the field of recognition of learning outcomes in line with the Lisbon Recognition Convention and introduced participants to practices of their implementation in universities of the EU and Ukraine;
- a comparative analysis of IEU’s Recognition Policy with international requirements was carried out;
- recommendations were discussed on improving procedures for the recognition of learning outcomes obtained both in formal and non-formal education.
